The Impacts of Covid 19 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
in the Textile and Fashion Industry Chain

The debates and actions around the impacts caused by the pandemic of the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) on society resulted in major transformations in the way of relating, producing, doing business and especially consuming. There was a major disruption in several areas and a slowdown in various types of business, production and services. People have come to value relationships and what is really essential. The Textile Chain and the Fashion Industry, had their productive and service activities greatly impacted, but has demonstrated its importance as a raw material in objects of personal and individual security. A research is fundamental, a study on these important current events in society, economy and the environment.
Even in the face of the current world scenario, it is important to highlight the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, commonly referred to as the "SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals", composed of 17 objectives that should permeate all future actions in order to humanize solutions to a new way of looking at society's way of living.
It is necessary that governments, companies, academic - scientific and society are aligned with the new models of product development, manufacturing, service and consumption to face all these issues. One of the sectors that has drawn the attention of researchers for its amount of social, environmental and economic impacts is the Textile Sector and the Fashion Industry.
The II SUSTEXMODA aims to discuss alternatives, innovations and solutions seeking to mitigate these impacts so as not to compromise the needs of future generations.
GT1 - Environment: Includes research that highlights the impacts and sustainable solutions related to the pandemic caused by Covid 19 disease, and investigations related to the sustainable development of new products, solid waste, effluents, gaseous waste, unhealthiness, certifications, regulations, public policies, transparency, innovation and other issues in synergy with the environment.
GT2 – Society: Includes research that highlights the impacts and sustainable solutions related to the pandemic caused by Covid 19 disease and investigations related to NGOs, cooperatives, collectives, labor, genders, needs, teaching, inclusion and social exclusion, regionalized culture and sustainability acculturation, public policies, transparency, innovation and sustainable development of new issues in synergy with society.
GT3 – Economics: Includes research that highlights the impacts and sustainable solutions related to the pandemic caused by Covid 19 disease and investigations related to the sustainable development of new products and business models, consumption, trade, price formation, e-commerce, foreign trade (import, export), production processes, service provision, agreements, transparency, innovation among other issues in synergy with the economic area.
